Getting a Little Personal...

I hope all of you are having a fabulous Thanksgiving! I am definitely full of turkey, stuffing, and green bean casserole! (Mostly green bean casserole... because that is my FAVORITE!) I love being surrounded by my family. And this post has a little bit -Ok...EVERYTHING- to do with one of them in particular.

Many photographers say "I've had a passion for photography since I was young." And yes, I have... but I want to tell you why...

This camera right here is the whole reason I am a photographer. Well, the camera and the man behind it. My Grandpa carried this camera around everywhere we went. He was always taking pictures and always telling the story of our family. My grandma has album after album of photographs of my family interacting with one another and having an amazing time. It was so very rare that he posed us, so very rare that he would say 'Ok look here and say "Cheese!"' I really think it's because of him that I have the style I do, I prefer to capture people interacting than to pose them.

I was Grandpa's 'fishing buddy'. (I don't know why I'm crying in this photo... because I LOVED fishing!) So many of my memories with Grandpa were fishing ones. I still try to out as often as I can, but I've definitely found that ice fishing is my favorite. I love being in the warm fish house with the wood stove going... the wood crackling... oh I love it.

Grandpa has always been one who spends so much time with me. He loves being involved in our lives, and he loves to make sure that that time is captured on film ;)

This last week my grandpa gave me that camera. I was SOOOO excited and thankful! I hope to capture as many memories and moments with it in my hands as it did in my Grandpa's hands.

I love you Grandpa, and you are the reason I am where I am with this photography business. Thank you!

Starting New?

I realize I've been missing from this blog again...

Next year one of my biggest goals is to really work on a complete workflow for every single session. Which means that from prepping to blogging, I want to have a list to check of for all of them!

I have to start somewhere right? So here is what I'm working on right now...

This is Cassie and Andy... they have an AMAZING love for God, each other, and for their adorable little man. I will be posting highlights from their session in the next couple of days!

If, by chance, you didn't know I have a Facebook page, please go check it out.

Smith Family {6.12.2011}

You may remember Caity and JR from their wedding that I shot last September. Well, Caity wrote me an email telling me that little L. was turning 2 and they wanted to get some photos of her as well as do a family session, so I was, of course, SUPER excited!

This family is one of the sweetest families you could meet. JR and Caity are just so in love (with another little one on the way!!!) and I just love how JR looks at Caity... *sigh* We started with some indoor studio shots and then moved on to my favorite part... the PARK! I think the boys were having just as much fun as little L. was :) But you can be the judge when you look through these photos.

You two have an amazing family and I'm so grateful that you let me tell your story!

Brenden Wedding {06.04.2011}

Hello Everyone! It has been awhile! I've been so busy shooting and editing I haven't had time to sit down and blog about all the amazing stuff I've been doing! So in the next few days I will be posting all the sessions I've been doing to catch everyone up :)

----------------------------------------

You may remember Elizabeth & Andrew from the engagement photos we took in March. Well, their wedding was on June 4th and it was BEAUTIFUL! Elizabeth is one of my best friends from college and it was such an honor to tell their love story. Andrew knows exactly how to make Elizabeth smile and you can see so much love between these two :)

Their wedding was held in Jonesboro, Arkansas on a VERY hot day! I was so happy they decided to do the pictures outside still, we had to keep jumping in and out of the car to cool down! They were all good sports though and we had so much fun. The pictures turned out better than I could have imagined. Elizabeth and Andrew are the picture perfect couple. She is so beautiful and he is one handsome guy! I really didn't have to tell them what to do because they're just so in love everything they do is so beautiful.

Their wedding was very vintage and handmade. From the programs for the guests, to the mason jars with candles and the babies breath flowers that lined the aisle. Everything was amazing!

At the reception they had a photo booth for people to take pictures to leave with a note for their guestbook. Elizabeth made mustaches and lips on sticks, and brought lots of props so this was one entertaining booth! The guests were definitely entertained the whole time. :)

Thank you guys again for being so amazing and for allowing Jennifer Christi Photography to tell your love story! You two are so blessed and I know that God has amazing things in store for you and your marriage!

So Giddy!!!

Is it terrible that after EVERY session I just get super giddy about the pictures I just took?! It doesn't get old! I LOVE telling the stories of people's lives. :) Tonight I just have to show off a picture I took at the wedding we shot today. (Another shout out to my little bro for helping me... AWESOME job!) This couple is so precious! Cannot WAIT to show you more! That is, after I show off my other two weddings from this month... which will be soon! I'm a busy woman! :D And loving every moment!

Have a fantastic evening!

So Perfect

This evening I had a fabulous session with two precious little boys. They ran all over the place and I think we got one photo of the two of them sitting still... but that's how boys are! I got plenty of smiles. There was even an army worm that the youngest one carried around on a pinecone for awhile :) So cute. This photo is probably my favorite from the whole session... seriously... so precious.

More later! Have a great evening!

Been Away...

Hello Everyone! It has been awhile... I'd like to start off with apologizing for my absence. I got off track with everything we've been doing lately and just kept getting further and further behind. Then today I thought to myself, I'm just going to do a combined blog of everything and go from there! So here is what I've done in the past couple months!

Brad and Gen welcomed their beautiful little boy, Chase to the world and I got to tell the story of their new little family. Isn't he so adorable?! These two really love each other, and I so look forward to seeing what kind of person this little man will be growing up to be. I'm sure he's going to be just as sweet at his parents are. Congratulations again Brad and Gen!

Raquel contacted me about taking her little one's photos. We turned it into a family session too. Raquel and Joe were pretty quiet people, but they both love their daughter so much. She is such a sweet little girl too! With the cutest little smile. Isn't this family just precious?!

Savannah is SUCH a sweet young lady! We had so much fun out on our shoot and we had no problems striking up conversation. She is so bubbly and full of joy. I'm so excited to hear where she goes after graduating this year! She is off to such a great start. God bless you in your upcoming adventures Savannah!

Zak and Laura... where do I begin?!?! These two have one of the sweetest loves I've ever been blessed to witness. We were with them for their entire wedding day... and they couldn't keep their eyes off of each other! They are so precious together and I'm so excited to see their love just grow constantly for one another! Congratulations again you two, and God bless!

This is one of my best friends in the whole world, Sarah. She is about to bring an amazing little girl into the world and I am SOOOOO excited for her husband and her to be parents! They are going to be amazing. And that little girl is going to be sooooo loved. I edited this session a little differently because the softness just seem to fit everything about this a little better than the bright colors I usually use. So excited for you guys!!!

My assistant, Natasha, was the one who shot this wedding. And although I don't really know Joelle and Marquise, I can tell they have such an amazing love! They look like one of the most fun couples in the world. And I'm so thankful that they allowed Jennifer Christi Photography to capture their day. Congratulations again you two!

Angie and Tabitha... aren't these two just so cute?!?! Tabitha did not want to leave her mom's side, but that was alright with me because they make such a cute set! :) Angie loves this little one so much, and she makes a great mommy. Happy birthday again little one!

Well I'm signing off for now... but I will be doing a much better job of keeping you all updated on whats going on over here. Have a fantastic day!!! And check back soon! I'm a very busy woman so there will be many things coming up!

Chad & Amanda {2.26.2011}

Amanda and Chad are such an adorable couple! He is a big goof ball and he makes her smile so often. They are perfect for each other for sure. They aren't the biggest fans of snow so we explored the cutest little antique store in Park Rapids called 'Rich's Antiques'. We took some outside as well. I love how these turned out! They are just so cute together! :D
