Jennifer Christi Photography Goes Videography!

Jennifer Christi Photography has HUGE news for this year...

WE ARE NOW OFFERING VIDEOGRAPHY!

Dillon and Savanna have started up the video side of our business. And I am SO excited for this new chapter of our business!

This is their first video, and Joel & I got to be the 'test subjects' for the first one, and I am SO happy with it! This is a video I will truly cherish for the rest of my life. There are so many parts of this video that are SO Joel and I.

The maps cut into hearts are a gift I gave to Joel for Valentine's Day this last year, they are places we've gone together on our adventures. We love our tea together. Our home is full of things that represent our loves and hobbies, and we've done so much to make it show us and our personalities. Joel makes me laugh all the time. We are dog parents... I admit it!

I hope you like this video almost as much as I do... which is pretty much impossible because I LOVE this :)

If you want a video for your memories to be documented forever email me at storytelling@jenniferchristi.com!

Caught on Film: Austin & Hailey

Joel and I headed out to Couer d'Alene, Idaho last July to celebrate with Austin and Hailey in their getting married! I brought my Canon film camera out with me and took the opportunity to photograph some of the day.

There is something about film that is unlike digital in the most mysterious way... I love film. It is truly a deep down passion of mine. Someday I will have a dark room and do my own developing, but for now just shooting and having it developed is plenty for me!

Now remember, I went out here as a guest so I didn't get to get everything that I would get on a normal day. But I love how these turned out! And we are going to be offering film now as an option, so here's an example of what we've done!

Austin and Hailey's day was so beautiful. They got married in a meadow... which is the meadow that Austin proposed to Hailey in! It was perfect. Mountains in the background... friends and family... and lots of thrifted details. Such a memorable day!!

Confessions of a Photographer: I love to doodle...

I love to doodle. I doodle all the time. I doodle during staff meetings... I doodle during church... I doodle when I'm sitting and there is a paper and pen in front of me. I don't doodle because I am distracted or anything, it actually helps me think and focus on what is going on. I am applying myself to something and therefore my brain is actually processing more. From what I understand this is called 'kinesthetic' learning, but don't quote me on that.

Anyways, there are plenty of photos and cards I've seen with the cute overlays of hand drawn things, and I've wanted to have that myself. I'm in no way a professional drawer... nor do I even claim to be a good drawer... I am a DOODLER. And although my father is like the KING of doodling (seriously... I've wanted to frame some of his work note doodles) I am just a simple 'draw yourself a flower' kind of gal. But I love the look of hand written or drawn items placed over photos.

So I messed around some with a new app on my iPad called iFontMaker {click here} and I am definitely having fun! The app is actually to create your own font... but I used it to make overlay shapes for photos and whatnot. It was my first time and I worked on it for just a little while... but here are a few pictures I put together with the "letters" I came up with! All the little doodles and extras were made using the app. And please remember I just threw these together... I literally spend about 10 minutes on the four of these photos.

What do you think?

Love, Jenny
